Election Day is upon us, so what better way to celebrate the end of this nasty campaign cycle than to host a real party of your own that’s fully capable of producing joy, sadness and, yes — plenty of anger?

Whether you’re in your parents basement or a Manhattan loft atop Trump Tower, there may be no  better event this November to pop a bottle of champagne and gather your friends around the TV than the big battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton that decides the fate of our democracy.

Here’s a few ideas to help you get into the spirit for Nov. 8:

Buy a piñata of your detested adversary

Nothing says party like “piñata” so why not buy one of your least favorite candidate, stuff it with some of your favorite candy, blindfold your friends and beat the living daylights out of it?

In the ’16 election where neither candidate is particularly liked very much, maybe you even buy one of both.

The trusty dusty Louisville Slugger can still be purchased from your favorite local sporting goods store.

What could liven up the spirit more than a star-spangled dish of delicious treats? Take these layered jell-o desserts, for instance, as inspiration of a red, white & blue delicacy that will make your party pop and delight the guests around you.

Jose Cuervo tequila optional.

Color your own map

Lots of sites have printable U.S. maps, so use that office printer collecting cobwebs and get them ready for you and all your guests. As the results roll in, everyone can color the map — and maybe even make their own projections as the night rolls on like in a real newsroom.

Be democratic with your election coverage

Make sure to flip the channels on Election Day, and watch all the bickering and one-sided coverage amongst the pundits. To make it really interesting, watch Fox News if you’re a Hillary supporter. And for all you Trumpkins out there, have fun yelling at the TV when CNN tries to call the race!
